Faculty from 11 New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC) programs submitted course reports for 17 NMNEC courses through an online survey during the 2024–2025 academic year. In alignment with the NMNEC Program Evaluation Plan, these de-identified reports were compiled and reviewed by the NMNEC Curriculum Committee across fall 2025 through spring 2026 to support ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement.

Across Levels 1–5, faculty reports highlight strong student performance, high pass rates, and effective integration of clinical skills and nursing knowledge. Students are demonstrating readiness for increasingly complex care environments, with Level 4 and 5 learners showing advanced clinical competence and preparation for professional practice.

Opportunities for improvement identified across levels include enhancing course sequencing, strengthening leadership and critical thinking development, expanding interprofessional collaboration, and supporting smoother transitions between levels and into professional roles.

In addition, course offering data from NMNEC programs were analyzed to determine report submission rates, providing further insight into program engagement and course delivery across the state.

Feedback gathered from this process is informing a review started in 2025-2026 to ensure continued alignment with national nursing education standards by the NMNEC Standards Review Subcommittee, including those of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Any resulting major curriculum changes from this review will follow established approval processes through NMNEC programs and the New Mexico Higher Education Department.

This annual review underscores NMNEC’s ongoing commitment to advancing accessible, high-quality nursing education through statewide collaboration.
