The New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC) is pleased to announce Gwen Weishapl, MSN, RN, of Central New Mexico Community College, as the FY 2025–2026 recipient of the NMNEC Nurse Educator Endowment Award in Honor of Nancy Morton (Sponsored by Karen Brown).
Gwen has contributed to NMNEC nursing education since 2016, serving as ADN Co-Chair of the NMNEC Curriculum Committee and participating in both the Curriculum and Simulation Committees. Her work has supported curriculum development and innovative simulation learning across the consortium.
Through this award, Gwen will attend the Nurse Educators Conference in the Rockies in June 2026, supporting continued growth in evidence-based teaching, curriculum innovation, and professional collaboration.
NMNEC congratulates Gwen Weishapl and thanks her for her ongoing commitment to advancing high-quality nursing education across New Mexico.
