The New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC) is pleased to announce the election of two new Advisory Members to the NMNEC Leadership Council. These individuals bring a wealth of knowledge, leadership experience, and commitment to advancing nursing education across New Mexico.

Brittany Hamilton, MSN, MBA, RN

Chief Nursing Officer, Holy Cross Medical Center
Elected as Rural Clinical Partner Advisory Member (Non-Voting)

Brittany Hamilton joins the Leadership Council with a strong passion for addressing the nursing shortage in rural communities. As the Chief Nursing Officer at Holy Cross Medical Center in Taos, Brittany understands firsthand the essential connection between education, workforce development, and community health. Her perspective that “nursing is the heart of healthcare and education is key to community well-being” reflects NMNEC’s mission to promote accessible, high-quality nursing education across New Mexico.

Cynthia Nuttall, MSN, MPA, PhD, RN, NE-BC

Chief Nurse, Academic Affairs, Professional Practice, and Research, New Mexico VA Health Care System
Elected as Urban Clinical Partner Advisory Member (Non-Voting)

Dr. Cynthia Nuttall brings deep experience in academic-practice partnerships and a longstanding commitment to the goals of NMNEC. She has supported NMNEC since its early development, both as a clinical partner and an adjunct faculty member teaching in NMNEC dual-degree programs. Her advocacy for increasing workforce diversity and her leadership within the VA system align closely with NMNEC’s statewide objectives to educate nurses who reflect the communities they serve. “We can’t hire diversity unless we educate and train diversity,” Cynthia emphasizes—a statement that underscores the importance of NMNEC’s mission.

We are honored to welcome Brittany and Cynthia to the NMNEC Leadership Council and look forward to their contributions as we continue collaborating to strengthen New Mexico’s nursing workforce through inclusive and innovative education pathways.
