NMNEC Program Evaluation Committee completed their review of the data from both the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 students about their biggest challenges in completing the semester/term and these reports were accepted by NMNEC Leadership Council.

In Fall 2020, 221 students completed this survey with 129 comments received and in Spring 2021, 194 students completed the survey with 107 comments from students. In both semesters, students had much to share:

“The biggest challenge for me and I think for the rest of us was doing this while we have a pandemic going on.” Fall 2020 student

“What I call the zoom fog. Basically where your brain starts to zone out because you have been on zoom too long. It was so easy to get distracted and very hard to learn but this is not really something that can be changed right now and I’m proud of how my instructors handled this semester.” Fall 2020 student

“Continuing to stay focused. It is tough when you’re strictly online: but it definitely created a new strength of discipline.” Spring 2021 student

“The biggest challenge overall was not having a lot of hands on experience in a clinical setting. Having no hands-on experience was the downside of online nursing.” Spring 2021 student
